The Library of Things
The Library has more than just books. In the summers, we have passes for State Parks and Historic Sites, local museums and fun outings for the kids. Thanks to Addison County HOPE, we have locally grown fresh vegetables. You can also borrow our moisture meter to check your soil, and use seeds from the seed library to grow your own veggies. And we now have tools for uprooting invasives, thanks to the Conservation Commission.

For other seasons, we have snowshoes to check out, as well as wildlife cameras, a projector, and many many puzzles and games.
Why a Seed Library?
Our seed library is a collection of seeds donated by small, non-GMO seed companies, as well as community members. Anyone can take seeds with no expectation of returning any. You can take a whole packet, or use a small envelope and take just a few seeds. If you would like, you can return seeds you have saved from your harvest.

Our main goals are to provide seeds to community members, encouraging people to garden and grow our own food. We also hope to improve access to healthy seeds and foods, increase the genetic diversity of seed stock that is specifically adapted to our climate, and continue to share the knowledge and culture of seed saving, lessening our dependence on large agro- business.

Many thanks to High Mowing Seeds and Sow Right Seeds for their generous donation of seeds to get us started.

Ever wondered how long you can save your seeds and have them still be viable?
